Planning: Where Are You Going?

If it's your first time traveling it can be overwhelming. There are so many rules, regulations, fees and information that planning your first vacation can be scary. Lucky for you, you now have a travel agent that can take that extra load of your plate! Below are some tips and information to consider when planning your first trip!

  • Budget - Setting a healthy budget will ensure you get the best quality and affordable travel package. It helps if you research average flight and hotel base prices beforehand to have a realistic price of what your vacation may cost. We always try to stay under your max price, but having an ideal figure will give us more options to help you find what exactly you need.
  • Destination - With millions of options in the world when it comes to a specific destination, if you know at least a country, state, or region, we can help narrow down the search options when looking for your perfect destination spot. The best way to choose a location would be to think about your preferred weather preference and what activities you want to do. For example if you love the winter/cold season and you love sailing or being on a boat, maybe an Alaskan Cruise would be ideal. Or let's say you enjoy relaxing on the beach and doing water activities, the Caribbean would be the place for you. The possibilities are endless.
  • Provide as much information - Planning trips/vacations is what we love to do! You can never provide too much information when it comes to planning and knowing exactly what you want. The more information, the better!
Preparation: What you need to know before take-off

Preparing to travel is arguably one of the most crucial parts of taking a trip. Being prepared reduces the chance of hiccups before and while traveling. Be sure to check the rolling information before you travel:

  • Does you require Passport? If so, apply for a passport. If you already have one; ensure it is not expired or it does not expire 6 months after your travel departure date, lastly, make sure there are pages available to be stamped.
  • Check COVID Entry & Exit Requirements - Do you need to be vaccinated? Do you need testing beforehand or upon return? Check the COVID-19 regulations for your destination. We will provide you with all the details after you are booked as well.
  • Confirmation Printed - We live in an era of technology, so mthe most important things are emailed or texted; however, nothing beats printing out your documents. Ensure your confirmations for hotels, activities, rental vehicles, etc. are printed somewhere quickly accessible.
  • Prepare Transportation - Make sure you have valid transportation to get to and from the airport (shuttle/Uber/cab). IF you want transportation added to your quote, we can help with that as well.
  • Invest in Travel Insurance - Travel Insurance allows coverage in the event something happens before, during and after your trip. I always recommend adding travel insurance to your package.
  • Familiarize yourself with your Destination - Read up on your destination before you book or go on your trip. Is tipping accepted? What will the weather be like? Any local scams I need to watch for? What areas I need to stay away from? What is the appropriate attire for the restaurant/club/event/area you are going to? Can you drink alcohol in public? All of these are important questions to ask before your trip.

Tips to remember While you are on Vacation:

  • The airlines does have baggage fees with weight limits, so don't over buy souvenirs and fill your bag too much if you are not prepared to pay the extra fees
  • Ensure you are current on TSA Regulations so you won't bring back or take anything that will get you in trouble of taken from you! Know what is allowed before you leave
  • Bring small bills when traveling internationally. In most cases, other countries may have a different currency or may not take your debit/credit card, so having money in hand is imperitive.
  • Account for baggage fees, hotel incidental holds, resort fees and hotel taxes. Some people forget about this when planning a spending budget.
